I’m proud to share the news that Xander has signed an agreement with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (the VA) to collaborate on Xander discovery work. Through the Veterans Health Administration Innovation Ecosystem, we’ll have the opportunity to get product feedback from Veterans with hearing loss, as well as from opticians and audiologists in 3 VA health centers in the U.S.
Hearing impairments are THE most common of service-related disabilities.
Nearly 3 million veterans currently receive disability benefits for hearing loss or tinnitus. Veterans are 30% more likely than nonveterans to have a severe hearing impairment. Post 9/11 veterans are 4x more likely than nonveterans. In fact, the VA is the largest purchaser of hearing aids in the country—1 of every 5 hearing aids sold in the U.S.
